School Data Portal Information

Support information for schools and kura about the School Data Portal.

Overview

All schools and kura are encouraged to use the School Data Portal to submit any planning and reporting documents quickly and securely that cannot be submitted to the Ministry via their Student Management System (SMS).

Use the School Data Portal to submit the following school or kura documents;

  • School Charter
  • Roll Returns
  • Attendance Survey
  • RTLit Survey (for RTLit host schools)
  • Analysis of Variance

Use the School Data Portal only if your SMS doesn’t support direct submission. Contact your SMS Vendor for more information.

Application role

School staff must use their own ESL user account with a valid School Data Portal Role to be able to access the School Data Portal.

How do I get access?

Please contact your school’s ESL Authoriser/Delegated Authoriser to have the appropriate role assigned to your ESL user account, or to receive an email invitation for a new ESL user account (if you do not have one), the accept an invite process is available here

If you are not sure who your ESL Authoriser/Delegated Authoriser(s) are then please check with a colleague, your principal or manager.

How do I logon to the School Data Portal?

School staff must use their own ESL user account with a valid School Data Portal Role to be able to access the School Data Portal. 

1. Click on the Application Logon Links at the top of this screen and select Logon to School Data Portal

2. You will be taken to the Education Sector Logon screen.

3. Enter your ESL Username and ESL Password and then select the Logon button.

4. You should be taken to the homepage of the School Data Portal.
