Te Whakarua Kākā is for both English- medium and Māori-medium providers. It will include keynote speakers, discussion forums and practical working sessions that focus on the role of PLD in an effective nationally-focussed learning system. There will be opportunities to share new thinking, receive updates on ministerial advisory groups and socialise with your peers and Ministry contacts.

It’s an exciting programme that includes:

  • Pōwhiri from Mana Whenua – Te Ati Awa Taranaki Whānui
  • A keynote address by the Secretary for Education
  • A keynote address by a Mana Whenua Te Ati Awa Taranaki Whānui representative
  • An overview of the work of the Curriculum Progress and Achievement (CPA) Ministerial Advisory Group
  • Challenging thinking about what it means to be culturally capable
  • What is changing as a result of the PLD service design process
  • Workshops that include the role of PLD in shifting the focus to progress, building effective collaborative inquiry networks and partnerships, and getting serious about cultural responsiveness
  • Opportunities to share good practice
