What support currently exists?

New opportunities to provide support to teachers are getting underway. You can find out more information about the support offered from each organisation in the coming months.

The Ministry of Education values the significance of peer to peer, ‘just in time’ support for teachers and we look forward to working with the following organisations to further develop teaching and learning networks.

National Coordination roles

We are also pleased to announce that we are finalising national coordination contracts to support and manage the Networks of Expertise programme of work. National Co-ordinators in both English and Māori medium will work closely with the contracted teacher networks to enhance peer to peer connections and the sharing of expertise. In English medium, the Teacher Refresher Course Committee (TRCC) will provide coordination and support of networks in primary and secondary settings.

In Māori medium, Justin Roberts has been appointed as the National Coordinator. Justin brings a long record of working the Māori medium sector and extensive knowledge of the context in which Māori medium and Māori language teachers teach in. Justin’s role will focus largely on working to set up and contract Māori medium networks of expertise across the country.
