Digital Technologies and Hangarau Matihiko PLD will support teachers, kaiako, schools, kura, Kāhui Ako and clusters to successfully implement the new Digital Technologies & Hangarau Matihiko (DT & HM) components of the Technology learning area and Hangarau Wahanga ako.

This new curriculum content is the first change to the National Curricula since they were released and is highly significant for schools, kura and Kāhui Ako. The process for applying for DT & HM curriculum implementation PLD is simplified from the usual PLD process.

Applications can be received from schools, kura, individually or in clusters or Kāhui Ako as well as groups of teachers such as lead teachers or teachers in specialist teaching roles or departments in a secondary schools. Where possible, groups of schools or teachers should nominate a lead school so that PLD hours can be allocated.

These are the steps that will be followed:

  1. Applicant completes online application form.
  2. A National DT & HM PLD Allocation panel reviews applications.
  3. Successful applicants choose an accredited facilitator from the Ministry’s online database.
  4. Selected facilitator will work with applicants to complete a DT & HM PLD plan.

You can submit an application at any time, however the applications will be assessed together by the National Allocation Panel at the next set allocation round. There will be a cut off point prior to each assessment round; if your application misses the cut-off date it will be held over until the next round:

Current round: 6 - cut off for applications is Friday 28 June.

Round 7 dates TBC
